omg (: i'm so thankful and happy that i FINALLY GOT TO TALK TO GLORY THIS MORNING! *beams

she was on FB. we couldnt stop talking... ahha. there was no silence in our convo box at all... too bad she had to go to bed alr, if not we would have gone on forever. haha. aye, it made my day (((((: like after 2plus weeks.

went to work with a tummyache today and came back with that same ache. sian. i hope it goes away by tmr morning. i want to enjoy my japan trip, please... i heard eunice olsen came by our store early this afternoon. haha. and i saw suyin sitting there with her mac when i went to look around (at the reno) haha. the la marzocco is also being replaced by mastrena, right at this moment. so sad, no more la mar to play with. espresso shots become simpler to pull now that it's semi automated. it's nice i guess but you miss out on the fun of having to pull the shot yourself. of course it's handy tho when there's a slam. hahah. bye la mar....

my dad says i need to sleep more... haha.

mm retreat was alright. it wasn't like 'wham' or anything but i did learn a lil.. yeah. i dunno why i was so tired on the 3rd day. we had this solitude reflection time... during which i fell asleep after most of my reflection was done. haha. oh well. could feel the seh-ness during work. caffeine doesnt help me much :S

today we had training at commonwealth for the new espresso machine, the mastrena. it's really nice and sleek, efficient too. but it kinda takes out the fun of pulling a shot of espresso... i prefer the la marzocco. oh well. it will be all gone when i come in next wed ): tmr is my day seeing it in store. heh. met 2 other partners who is working/going to work in SB-US too. cos i've never had same shift with them before, so only know by name. 11 of us squeezed into cheng's van just now from the support centre all the way to yck mrt. my legs almost cramped up. haha.

leaving for japan in 2 days! i'm still trying to get used to hearing japanese. cos i keep watching korean drama. then when i try to think of certain simple phrases in jap, they come out in my head in korean :|

working 3-9 tmr!

this is the third day i have not stepped out of my house... things are getting somewhat mundane. i can count what i have been doing at home with my hands:

yeah that's it. how exciting. haha. cant wait for the weekend to come. or rather for tmr (: then i'll have work, dental, retreat and work. i'm bored :S and there's smth wrong with my wrist. i want to talk to my pacey! pfft. it's been really hot for the past few days.

i've been working hard at this new piece i got last week, KOL NIDREI. it's a 20th century piece but sounds quite nice, and yesterday i was so intent on getting the second page right that i was hooked on my cello for almost 2 hours. and i had reference from youtube somemore. now the piece randomly plays in my head. my fingers turned quite black from all the shiftings on the fingerboard. but it was good practice (: somewhat of a challenge but i know that i have to go beyond the notes to the deeper emotions of the piece. aye why do i struggle so much with that? :S

today, i just finished a book i borrowed from chrystal, titled 'UGLY' by constance briscoe. it's such a hurtful story and makes one think about how fortunate we are to come from decent backgrounds when the author as a young girl went thru so much on her own, how she persevered and made it in life. i really admire her fighting spirit and her will to live on (:

yesterday was the first time (i think) that my captain's ball team has lost all our games. not that we're ever there to win (okay maybe sometimes but that depends on the guys) but we've never scored so badly before so it was kinda amusing. haha. we played all the really tall teams! like our team's average ht is 1.65m like that. the teams we played against, their average ht is like 1.75m and above. like yay.

and there were quite a few injuries. like the last game we played against jon&james' team. first, huiru knocked into jon and fell down, she twisted her ankle or smth (those kind heal in one day kind). then not even 1 minute back into the game, mingtuan fell flat on his back onto the ground! it was so scary cos there was this loud sound and we were afraid he injured his back/spine/head! my goodness, thank God he was alright. he was lying there groaning and smiling. HAHA. he said all the air got knocked out of him. it was funny after that. haha.

me and chrystal were the cg's representatives to send nat wee off after that. we almost died from exhaustion cos it was after captain's ball and our whole day was spent outside :S we went to eat popeye's at t3 and toured the terminal. it's pretty nice (: bought a lil smth for glory and myself. it's amusing. but it's a surprise for her so i shan't reveal it here :D

work today was good and bad. the day started alright when i first came but by the time i hit my break, i was feeling darn emo/cranky/unwanted/___________ yeah. it wasnt really anyone's fault (i think) but it was a terrible feeling. good thing for the long break. had a meal (which helps my moods) and some stoning time, during which i prayed for peace and genuine joy to overflow as i worked after break. and true enough, prayer works (: i felt so thankful for that. i think it was because i was feeling tired also from yesterday and having to wake up for work today. yeah. oh well. it's over (:

i have learnt that morning shift is more fun to work (: cos you meet more people (not that i'm a people person but you feel occupied and happy that people are coming in and out) haha. ya. and they buy many things. so at the register (yes, once again) you get alot of money, and you have to keep topping up pastry case so it makes you happy to see things being sold off.. yup. and it's not that boring compared to night shift or even midshift. i enjoyed myself today (:

and i realise why i like this job also. even tho i may not interact as much, i do enjoy people watching. hahah. I SPY ON YOU! not in the stalker-ish way, but just watch lor. it tells a bit of their story (from what you can infer). i think it's just the way i am, observing things, observing people, observing the world around me. it's pretty captivating (:

today was quite an exciting day at work. somewhat. i think cos i had enough rest the day before so i was rather energetic. alamak first thing in the morning i came, nana told me i have to do coffee tasting with cheng and cindy. stress can :S erp. and i had to do sampling too...

then i got assigned POS AGAIN! but at least R2 so can slide around not too bad. hahah. today POS was good (how bipolar-ish). i only had one void. which shouldnt even have been there. nevertheless, i felt that i had redeemed myself! muaha.

when i was on my lunch break, i sat reading my book near the door. and i saw these 2 ladies come in. i shant describe them to protect their identity, but one of them had a hole in her skirt like at the butthole there. and it was one of those lycra-ish material skirts that cling to you? so it was pretty obvious (esp when the skirt was black and whatever underneath was not!) i was contemplating if i should tell her but i felt quite embarrassed to :S and after observing them looking for a seat, i realised why she got that hole there. i presume it's cos she kept tugging at her wedgie or whatever until the hole appeared. my goodness...

the cuts on my fingers from tuesday: one of them split today so it got worse, started bleeding and i didnt realise. mirah refuesd to let my do anything until i got a plaster on it. hahah. it was quite funny cos by then it had alr stopped bleeding just that the blood dried there. and i got a new cut. yayness...

oh and i forgot these:

i hope i dont get deep vein thrombosis from long hours of standing on shift. i'm too young for that! hahah. you don't feel the tiredness till you actually sit down for a while. and i keep getting cuts and bruises on my hands/fingers/legs cos i keep bumping into things everywhere in store. whoopdeedo.

yesterday's experience with POS gave me new hope that i could get the hang of it and at least like it. but today's totally screwed that thought up cos i kept voiding so many things! sian. and the store's getting really crowded with all the mugging students (who are getting our manager very cranky when customers cannot find seats... very cranky indeed.)

went for nice lunch with cheryl and chrystal today at the US food court. SORRY TO GIVE YOU YOUR CARAMEL MACCHIATO SO LATE CHRYSTAL! but i hope it was nice (: hahah

4. chrystal and i bought 62$ KAPOK brand fake acoustic guitars. hahah. made in china. they're small (the main reason we bought) classical guitars with acoustic strings and the label says electric guitars. the uncle in the shop didnt even know what he was selling :S how terrible. but nonetheless, we are quite happy with our purchase. haha

5. i'm working 3-9 on mon and tues, 10-6 on thurs and 8-3 on fri, in case anyone wants to visit me! (: hahah

i realised i forgot to add that making the frappe and choc work is a very tiring job. the whisking is endless! esp for choc mix. my tian, my arms almost dropped off!

had my bar test. i assume i passed. hahah though i'll only find out on tuesday. must be optimistic! went for lunch with amy, sharon and glory at shokudo (bugis). we had a nice lunch, followed by rather aimless and unfruitful shopping and we ended up nua-ing and getting high at SB bugis. it was quite disturbing yet entertaining (only in terms of the company). yes.

I'M VERY SAD. MY BELOVED PACEY IS LEAVING IN 5 DAYS TIME! WHAT WILL I DO WITHOUT HER?! i can so imagine myself bawling my eyes out on friday. oh pacey you'll be so touched. i seldom/never cry over other people leaving okay. you are privileged. we might not elope to the netherlands, but you will remain in my heart always (oh so cheesy. maybe i should censor it.. haha)
